My first destination wedding - Italy! Who would say no to shooting a wedding in Italy? I was so thrilled when Charlotte asked me, such an amazing opportunity and it exceeded all my expectations.
Charlotte, from Yorkshire met Francesco in the region of Puglia, Italy where they decided to get married. The reception was held at the stunning venue of Masseria San Nicola. A beautiful house in the heart of Puglia, so fitting for the colourful theme of the wedding.
The ceremony was held at a sweet little church, about a 25 minute drive from the venue in the Puglia hills. The service lasted 2 hours, longer than the usual service but I was quite happy out of sight, in the corner snapping away and taking in the beautiful Italian language. Francesco's aunts Hand crocheted hundreds of confetti which were thrown over C&F after the ceremony. The air was filled with bursts of colour and love!
When we arrived back at the venue, I managed to steal Charlotte & Francesco and take advantage of the grounds at the Masseria and capture some beautiful portraits of them before they were whisked away to socialise with their friends and family to sit down for the delicious Italian food - there was so much of it!
Ed and I really loved shooting Charlotte & Francesco's wedding, and managed to have a mini holiday staying at Polignano a Mare. We enjoyed our time there so much that we are already planning our next trip!
Take a look at their photos, and if you're looking at getting married abroad, do as I love to travel!
